AI for Barristers: Practical Applications

AI tools for submissions, hearings, and daily practice.

This workshop is designed specifically for barristers who want to understand how general-purpose AI tools can fit into their practice. We focus on Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini rather than legal-specific platforms — the skills transfer, and these tools are more flexible across the full range of work barristers do.

How the session works

The session is hands-on. You will have your laptop open, working alongside us.

  1. How these tools actually work

Fifteen minutes on what they do reliably, where they go wrong, and why.

  2. Working through practical tasks

You will choose from structuring submissions, drafting correspondence, preparing for hearings, explaining complex concepts to lay clients, and proofreading your own work.

  3. Risk discussion

Confidentiality, accuracy, professional obligations — which concerns are overblown and what practical safeguards make sense.

Who this is for

Practising barristers at any level of AI experience. No prior use of AI tools is assumed.
