In Microsoft Copilot, the Tilt Base connection comes with your organisation's plugin, which a Microsoft 365 administrator uploads as a custom app.
## Add Tilt Base to Microsoft 365
A Microsoft 365 administrator does this once for each of your organisation's plugins.
1. In Tilt Base, open **Plugins**, select **Download** on the plugin and choose **Microsoft Copilot**.
2. In the **Microsoft 365 admin center**, open **Manage apps**.
3. Select **Upload custom app** and choose the plugin's ZIP. Upload each plugin separately.
A newer version keeps the same app ID, so uploading it updates the app. You need to upload again only when your organisation adds, removes or renames skills; every other change reaches members through Tilt Base as soon as it is published.

**Copilot has plugin limits.** Copilot accepts up to 20 skills in a plugin, each with up to 20 supporting files of 5 MB each and 10 MB in total. If a plugin is over a limit, Tilt Base says so when you download it; split it into smaller plugins.

## Connect your account
Each member does this once, after the plugin has been uploaded.
1. Open Microsoft 365 Copilot.
2. Ask for the work, or name Tilt Base. The first time Copilot uses Tilt Base, it asks you to connect.
3. Sign in with the Microsoft account or email address your organisation set up for you, choose your organisation if you belong to more than one, and select **Allow**.
[Connecting Tilt Base](https://tilt.legal/docs/tilt-base/connecting-tilt-base) explains signing in in more detail.
## Use Tilt Base in a conversation
- Ask for the work as you normally would. With the plugin installed, Copilot can start a skill on its own when your request matches it.
- You can also name Tilt Base, for example "Which Tilt Base skills can I use?"
- For work that produces Word documents or runs scripts, use Copilot Cowork.
## Troubleshooting
- **Members cannot see Tilt Base.** A Microsoft 365 administrator must first upload at least one of your organisation's plugins and make it available to them.
- **Tilt Base will not download a plugin for Copilot.** The plugin is over one of Copilot's limits. Tilt Base names the limit; split the plugin into smaller ones.
- **A skill is missing.** Check that your organisation has published it in Tilt Base. A skill added since the last upload works when you name it, and Copilot starts it on its own once the new download is uploaded.
- **Anything else.** See [If you cannot connect](https://tilt.legal/docs/tilt-base/connecting-tilt-base).
