Tilt Base is deliberately narrow. It provides skill instructions and supporting files to your AI platform, and records how they are used. The legal work itself, and the material it draws on, stays in your AI platform.
## What Tilt Base holds
- **Account details:** your name, work email, organisation and role, managed by our sign-in provider.
- **Usage records:** each time your AI uses Tilt Base, who you are, your organisation, the AI platform, the time, what was retrieved, and the version of your organisation's plugin and of Tilt Legal's skills it came from.
- **Matter names:** the name of the case, investigation, bill or project the work is for, as your AI records it. Your AI tells you the name it records, so you can correct it.
- **Your organisation's own content:** the plugins, skills, preferences and files your administrators add.
## What Tilt Base does not receive
Tilt Base does not receive your documents, your conversations with your AI, or your recordings and transcripts. Recordings for transcription go directly from your AI to the transcription provider your organisation chose. Because matter names are the only details of your work Tilt Base holds, consider using your organisation's matter or file number with a short description.
## Who can see it
Your organisation's administrators see your organisation's usage records and matter names. Tilt Legal staff who administer Tilt Base can see them too. When you connect Tilt Base, your AI platform receives your name, email address and profile picture from sign-in, and it handles what Tilt Base returns under its own terms.
## Where it is stored and how it is protected
Tilt Base's database and files are hosted in Australia, in Sydney and Australia East. Sign-in is provided by Clerk in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and file download links expire within 15 minutes. Tilt Legal is ISO 27001 certified.
## Licensed content
Tilt Legal's skills are Tilt Legal's material, licensed to your organisation for use through Tilt Base. Your AI uses them to do your work but will not reproduce them, which protects the work Tilt puts into them.
Skills your organisation writes, and the preferences and files your administrators add, belong to your organisation. When an administrator keeps a skill's instructions private, Tilt Base delivers it under your organisation's licence and tells your AI to keep it confidential. That is an instruction your AI follows, not a technical control.
