A Transcription Summary (sometimes called Notes of Interview) is an AI-generated structured summary of an interview, produced from a transcript file. The output is a formatted document organised around the interviewee's responses, ready for review and export.
## Starting the workflow
From the matter, navigate to the Workflows tab, and select New Workflow in the top right corner. When prompted, select Transcription Summary (or Notes of Interview) to start the workflow. Select the transcript file you want to summarise and hit continue. You can use a transcript Mobius generated from an audio file, or a transcript you have uploaded directly (for example, a Teams export or a Word document).
## Adding context before generation
Before running, you have the option to provide free-text instructions to the model. Use this to flag known gaps, areas of focus, or context the AI would not otherwise pick up from the transcript alone — for example, "the respondent's role changed mid-2025, treat references to 'the previous role' accordingly". Pre-run comments are not required, but they meaningfully shape the output when used.
## Reviewing the output
Once the workflow has completed its first draft, it loads the Review and Evaluate Document phase. Here you can review the document, prompt the AI to make changes if required, and approve the output once satisfied. From there, you move to the Export Document phase, where you can download the file as a Word document or save it directly to the matter.
## Action items and the follow-up email
Alongside the Notes of Interview, Mobius produces an action items list — open questions, missing evidence references, and points the interviewee did not address. Select the items relevant to a follow-up email back to that interviewee, and Mobius will draft the email for you to review and send via your email platform. The action items list is scoped to the interviewee by design; the broader picture across all interviews surfaces in the gap analysis view (covered in a separate article).
