About the Role

As a Junior Legal Engineer, you'll join our collaborative team where you'll receive dedicated mentorship, hands-on experience with cutting-edge legal technology, and clear pathways for professional growth. We offer flexible working arrangements and foster an inclusive culture where junior team members actively contribute to meaningful client solutions.

Location: Melbourne-based preferred for in-person collaboration and mentorship. We offer hybrid working arrangements with a mix of office and remote work.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Current study towards or completion of a Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Law, or related field
  • Essential: Basic programming knowledge and problem-solving aptitude
  • Beneficial: Any experience with AI development, modern web frameworks, low-code platforms, or data analysis tools. Any exposure to the legal industry through work experience.
  • Willingness to learn software development principles and agile methodologies
  • Good communication skills with a desire to develop abilities to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies quickly in a supportive environment
  • Interest in legal technology and its applications is beneficial

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in implementing software applications, custom solutions, and AI workflows for our clients
  • Support project delivery by navigating client approval workflows and enterprise IT governance processes, helping to advance solutions through complex organizational structures
  • Help implement and customise tools using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate) under supervision
  • Support the setup and maintenance of legal software products
  • Learn to develop AI workflows with guidance from senior team members
  • Write code under supervision, with a focus on developing good coding practices
  • Participate in testing applications and systems
  • Assist in creating documentation throughout the software development life cycle
